Staff and Leadership

Please find below an introduction to our church leaders and staff members.
 
Karl3   Tony Williams
Rector: Rev Karl Freeman   Associate Vicar: Rev Tony Williams
Karl has lived and worked in Plymouth for over 25 years.  He has been the Senior Minister at Emmanuel since 2000.  He is married to Nicky and they have three grown-up daughters, one grandchild and a labrador.  Karl loves woodwork, and is passionate about people meeting Jesus.
 
  Tony has been part of the staff team at Emmanuel and St Paul’s since July 2016 and works full time in partnership with Karl, to look after both churches. Before joining us, Tony was a manager in the NHS. He enjoys badminton and cycling and is married to Jean, with three grown-up daughters.
 
Darryl  Bev   The Rev Robin
Assistant Curates: Rev Darryl & Rev Bev Cree   Assistant Curate: Rev Robin Brown
Darryl and Bev Cree have been part of Emmanuel church for over twenty years.  They have two grown up children, Tom (who is married to Nikki) and Emily.  Bev was ordained as Deacon in September 2016 and continues her ministry as a permanent Deacon for the Parish.  Darryl, who is also a paramedic, was ordained as Deacon in September 2017 and works with our sister church St Paul’s.
   
  Robin is a Plymothian, and, after ordination, joined our team in 2020, having trained at St Mellitus College. He loves to introduce people to Jesus, encouraging faith and worship, and exploring the scriptures. Robin is married to Pippa, has two daughters, used to be a lawyer, and enjoys music, gardening and walking on Dartmoor.

Holly Martin: Children's Worker   Stephen Wildgoose: Youth Worker
Holly started as the children’s worker at Emmanuel in February 2021. She has lived in Plymouth all her life-in fact she grew up just around the corner from Emmanuel church itself. Holly is a mother to three
small (ish) children and married to Steve. She loves to knit and crochet and going for long walks on the moors with her family. Holly loves spending time with children and introducing them to Jesus. 
   Stephen took over as Pathfinders leader 1st March 2021. He is Married to Alice and they have 3 children. 
He enjoys his outdoor activities with the family, walking, climbing (where he met Alice), kayaking and recently tennis.  
Stephen also enjoys his role in the RAF Air Cadets as OC City of Plymouth Sqn, where the passion for youth working started.
