Our parish is served by two churches – the 19th century parish church of Emmanuel in the area of Mannamead, and the more modern sister church of St Paul’s in the area of Efford. Two churches…two catchment areas…one gospel !
Emmanuel Church is a family church in the Mannamead area of Plymouth – ‘family’ in the sense that we seek to make everyone of every ‘age and stage’ in life feel at home and valued as part of the church community. We are somewhat laid back in our style but serious and passionate about our faith! Indeed, our mission statement is that we may have, “A passion to see God’s Word shape our church and our church shape society”. In short, we want to be a learning, loving, worshipping, evangelizing church which enriches and fulfills the lives of those with whom we come into contact. People who visit and come to join the church tell us we are a friendly and welcoming church to come to. Making visitors and enquirers welcome is an absolute priority for us, as is helping newcomers to understand the faith and Christians to grow in it.
St Paul’s Church is a small but friendly congregation at the centre of Efford’s community. Like our sister church, Emmanuel, we aim to help people to deepen their relationship, understanding or exploration of the Lord Jesus through our services and other groups. We hope to do this in a way reverent way that helps people understand and express how amazing God is, but also in a relaxed way so that people are able to make a genuine response to God according to how they really feel.
New-comers are always very welcome whether you have been part of a church family before or not. Please feel free to join us – there will be a warm welcome waiting for you!Church address: St Paul’s Church, 100 Efford Lane, Plymouth. PL3 6LT
